I wear many hats at Chamberlain. Whether I am down in the weeds creating daily marketing tactics, or up in the sky developing brand messaging to drive consumer awareness — my day is never boring. I am trusted to be the gatekeeper of the brand voice for three distinct offerings: Chamberlain®, LiftMaster®, and myQ®. We are a legacy hardware company, acquired by The Blackstone Group in 2022, that is in the process of transformation into a SaaS offering of smart home products and subscription services. When they asked me to come work at Chamberlain, I wondered how my deep experience in consumer technology could help these brands. It’s pretty obvious now. My brand messaging informs every piece of marketing and sales collateral that the Chamberlain Residential Business Unit produces, regardless of product or service. I’m excited to flex my brand strategy muscles here each day as I am looked to to help create a new path forward for my company.

myQ Smart Garage® Video Keypad
From NPD to launch, I played a critical role in creating the branded messaging architecture for Chamberlain’s newest smart home offering — the myQ Smart Garage Video Keypad. The key market positioning was identified as “eyes on your real front door” -or- the “first video keypad for the garage.” The statistic supporting the positioning was “70% of homeowners with attached garages use the garage as the main entry point of their home.” (Via a Qualtrics survey commissioned by Chamberlain Group in 2022.) Key differentiators of this product: It is specifically designed for the myQ owned market space (the garage.) And unlike other “video doorbells” it will actually open and close a door.
Working with the Product and Marketing teams, I crafted a holistic Executive Summary of our deeper messaging strategy to distribute across channels for use in various areas of the business. With this project, I introduced and trained my team to use my unique “copy repository” method to capture variations on the core messaging structure for reuse/reference in tactics that extended beyond launch. We developed launch copy and performed multiple consumer tests to drill down into what messaging would convert best. (I love data!) I collaborated on creating and served as script supervisor on two “Big Idea” commercial spots for cable distribution and CTV/streaming. Currently I am positioned as the SME on this product, and I am looked at to inform all content and copy associated with the myQ Smart Garage Video Keypad. I have my hands in PR, social media, direct-to-consumer, in-app tactics, retail, professional programs, and more.
